\u00a0<\/span>After the death of their Father Richard,\u00a0 there appears to be no record\u00a0 as to whether or not William and\u00a0 Richard were placed into guardianship if so it would not have been for many years, but one fact is certain they both would have been fairly\u00a0 wealthy young men.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>The estate appears to have been divided fairly evenly, William inherited all of the Kimmeridge and Wareham property and land. The remainder going to Richard, William\u2019s property assets were shortly to increase upon his marriage to Alice salmon, the daughter Robert Salmon of semley in Wiltshire. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When his daughter Edith married Francis, the son Walter.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Although Richard was the younger son he did not do too badly he inherited the Shaftesbury estate,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>including both land an properties, along with the granted properties in Hilton and Buckland Newton,\u00a0 also property in Dorchester, and various other smaller amounts of land, elsewhere in Dorset.\u00a0 He also inherited all of the estates in Somerset. On the face of it he may have had, a\u00a0 far greater deal\u00a0 than William, in as much as\u00a0\u00a0 most of\u00a0 this\u00a0 land, was\u00a0 in very\u00a0 fertile farming\u00a0 country,\u00a0 whereas\u00a0 the land which William Inherited\u00a0 was on\u00a0 the whole of\u00a0 poorer quality, being mostly\u00a0 bleak reclaimed heathland. I could find no record of Richard\u2019s marriage or how many children he had other than, Richard the rest probably died at a young age.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There is very little on record regarding this Richard land and holdings inherited from his father these only came to light in later years after they were inherited by his son Walter who appears to h<\/span>ave been his only son.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
